INTRODUCTION
Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) is a powder metallurgy process, which uses uniaxial pressure and pulsed direct electrical current to perform a high speed
powder consolidation. It is mostly used for simple shapes as discs and cylinders; however the fabrication of near-net shape or complex components by SPS is
not well understood. Homogeneity of the microstructure is a key parameter, which would be affected by the shape.
OBJECTIVES
This study aims;
• To produce cylindrical, triangular and hexagonal Al 7075 samples by SPS
under same sintering conditions and,
• perform the relative density measurements and porosity investigation of
each specimen.

CONCLUSION
- Both Archimedean measurements and optical microscope
image analysis showed an increase in relative density from
triangular to cylindrical specimen.
- As the geometry gets closer to circle, relative density of final
product increases.
