INSTITUTE
I am thrilled to share that this magazine is now read in over 40 countries. It
says a lot for the encaustic movement, not just in America but the world
over. In this 15 th edition, we continue to share with you - diverse encaustic/
wax artists, our Techniques section, and a growing number of advertisers
from art suppliers to artists.
The Encaustic Art Institute (EAI) expands its vision as an umbrella for the
Encaustic Arts Magazine, the growing workshops and demonstrations
through EAI, and the Museum of Encaustic Art. In addition, we are
collaborating efforts with Artisan’s to help sponsor an Art EXPO with a
stronger presence of encaustic workshops and an international encaustic
retreat September 27-29 in Santa Fe, NM.
Jane Cornish Smith whose work is on the cover this issue, is a long standing
member of the Encaustic Art Institute and supporter of our mission. Her
portraiture work will be shared in a workshop during the Artisans EXPO.
Be sure to check out our ads within this issue for the workshops, encaustic
retreat, and Artisan’s EXPO.
Thank you once again for your support and your interest in our efforts to
expose a select group of encaustic/wax artists and their inspiring creativity
within each issue. Enjoy!!
