Gustavo
A
lbuquerque is home to the
internationally
recognized
classical guitarist Gustavo Pi-
mentel. He has performed in
Helmstadt Germany, Spain,
and Mexico City; in addition
to many places throughout the
U.S.
He also performs with the Phil-
harmonic Orchestra. Gustavo
comes from a very talented and
worldwide recognized family of
guitar makers. The guitars are
custom made and hand made.
Gustavo said of his brothers
craft that “when they make a
guitar, they make it with feel-
ing, care, and precision”. And
that his brothers have a great
ear and hearing for musical
tone and know what and how
the guitar will sound before it’s
even done being crafted. Gus-
tavo’s father Lorenzo Pimentel
began making guitars at the age
of 14. This quickly became his passion and
legacy as four of his sons followed his lead, and
excelled quite nicely. The four Pimentel sons
involved in the business are Rick, Robert, Vic-
