He also co-founded and served on both the KiMo Theater Foundation, Pope- joy Hall’s Board of Directors and the NMHBA/ UNM Law Camp while serving on the boards of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association (NMHBA), Albuquerque Community Foun- dation (ACF) Future Fund, NMSU Crimson Central New Mexico Alumni Association, NM Police Athletic League (PAL), United Way of Central New Mexico Center for Nonprofit Ex- cellence (CNPE) and New Mexico College Ac- cess Network. Brian has extensive experience in working with local, state and federal elected offi- cials in order to assist individuals and or- ganizations with their various goals. But most importantly, Mr. Colón is passionate about mentoring young people and leaders in order to strengthen our community, our state and the nation. But most important- ly, Mr. Colón is passionate about mentor- ing young people and leaders in order to strengthen our community, our state and the nation. It’s apparent that Brian has long been a man of the community in Albuquerque. He and his wife, Maria Aleli Colón, have been married for more than 20 years and have been blessed with one son, Rafael Ma- rio Colón, who is a proud graduate of Al- buquerque High School. Colón often says he was a “wandering generality” until he met Aleli, who became the driving force behind his personal and professional suc- cess.
