MADETOLEAD 04. LOVE WHAT YOU DO. This saying is repeated quite a bit, but it really does matter. I remember the times I tried to step away from what I love (writing) to pursue an opportunity to make more money and the result was always the same—I was miserable. There’s nothing like waking up every day and doing what moves you and makes you happy. It not only gives you joy, but it’s what keeps you going when times get tough. 06. 05. REMEMBER THAT “NO” SOMETIMES MEANS “NOT YET.” We all have major goals and dreams, but what keeps us on our toes throughout the journey to success is the fact that some opportunities don’t always c ome when we think they should—and that’s not always a bad thing. When we’re told no, it oftentimes sends us back to the drawing board and we find another way to get what we want want or we acquire the skills or knowledge necessary to make it happen. When we eventually get the “yes” we were looking for, we realize that timing really is everything. ALWAYS MAKE TIME FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. As millennial creatives, all we know is grind. We wake up thinking about what needs to be accomplished and we go to bed making a mental note of what we need to tackle the next day. While it’s important to put in the work to meet our goals, we can’t be so consumed with the grind that we forget to spend time with those who matter the most. made-magazine.com | 11
