Patti Cotton's recent interview.
6) You speak on conflict resolution frequently. Can you share some tips on conflict resolution?
Yes!
A) First, if you are pointing a finger somewhere, redirect it toward yourself. What can you do to help solve the problem? What is one step you are willing to take? Alternately, if you clearly feel that you cannot change or better the situation, ask yourself how to step out of it. We always have choices.
Then, listen, before opening your mouth. Listen with your ears, your eyes, and your heart. Lay aside the inclination to jump in at first pause, and reflect back to the other person what you think you have heard.
Resist the temptation to
tell them why they are wrong, or why it should be another way. Acknowledge their feelings.
And then, ask how you can work together to get what you both want. This one tip can help to make - or break - a marriage, a business relationship, a future.
7) If you could meet five historic figures (living or deceased) who would they be and why?
A)
1. Nelson Mandela.
2. Julius Caesar
