(TCS), part of major industrial conglomerate Tata Group, was set up in 1968 and offers IT and outsourcing services and business solutions to clients across the globe. ? TCS has strong domain expertise in banking, ?nancial services and insurance, retail and consumer packaged goods, telecom, media and entertainment, manufacturing and other verticals, including hi-tech, life sciences and healthcare, energy resources and utilities and travel transportation and hospitality. ? TCS posted standalone revenue from operations of INR 484.26bn for 2012, up by 27.09% from INR 381.04bn a year earlier. Profit before tax totaled INR 157.03bn in 2012 against INR 133.66bn in 2011. The company's net pro?t margin decreased from 28.81% in 2011 to 26.40% in 2012. ? The company had 58 subsidiaries and employed some 276,000 people in 44 countries as of March 2013. ?
