K. Jeya Kumar, former CEO of Patni Computer Systems and Mphasis, has teamed up with Advent Capital in a bid to buy out HP's 60.5% stake in Bangalore-based IT and outsourcing services provider MphasiS. Private equity companies Carlyle Group and Blackstone Group are also seeking Indian partners to bid for HP's stake in the company, the Business Line newspaper reported on June 3, 2013. MphasiS gets nearly half of its revenues from HP. ? If closed, the deal will be the largest in the Indian IT industry after software firm iGate, backed by private equity firm Apax Partners, acquired control of India's Patni Computer Systems for USD 1.2bn in 2011. ? Software services company UST Global is in advanced talks to acquire an analytics firm based either in the U.S. or Europe, the Economic Times newspaper reported in February 2013.
