The 2014 – 2015 Golf Season Brings the EGF Order of Merit to All UAE Golfers

As summer fades and the fall brings the cool weather back to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) the Emirates Golf Federation Order of Merit (EGF OOM) will be back in full swing starting this October. Providing a tour like experience the EGF OOM gives the UAE golfer an opportunity to play all UAE golf courses with a competitive atmosphere.

This seven month long season will take place at 13 different golf clubs (in the Men’s Division) within the UAE. Each event across three divisions (Men’s, Ladies’ and Juniors’) will be played under the stroke-play format for at least 18-holes, with many of the events lasting 36-holes. In the Ladies’ and Juniors’ Divisions there will be a Gross and Net Score winner. If you are looking to be the best Amateur Golfer in the UAE, have some competitive fun, or just trying to improve your game, this season long experience is ideal.

The top 30 Men, top 30 Ladies (Gross Score) who comply closest to above EGF OOM criteria in their respective divisions, will qualify for the season ending EGF Order of Merit Championship.

The criterion is as follows: Men ‘s Division must play in at least 8 of the 13 Open tournaments and one Open must include a sand course. Ladies’ Division must play in at least 6 of the 11 Open tournaments and one Open must include a sand course. The Juniors’ Division will be selected by the EGF.

The top 20 players in each event will receive OOM points from first place receiving 30 points to twenty receiving 4 points. The OOM Leaderboard will be updated after each event and can be viewed on the EGF website.
