On August 20, 2014 the UAE National Team traveled to Perth, Australia for a two week Training Camp at The Vines Resort & Country Club. Following the Training Camping the UAE National Team will compete in the World Amateur Team Championship – Eisenhower Trophy (WATC) in Karuizawa, Japan on September 3rd to 14th.

The WATC has seen the top players in the world. Jack Nicklaus, Rory Mcllroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Luke Donald, Martin Kaymer, Rickie Fowler, Serigo Garcia, just to name a few.

While in Australia the UAE National Team which will consist of the following players, Sohail Marzuqi, Khalid Yousuf, Abdalla Musharekh, Hassan Musharekh, Rashid Hamood, Saeed Balooshi, Ahmed Skaik, will work on the follow aspects of the game.

The WATC is the most prestigious Amateur Golf Event in the world. The top countries across the world send their best Amateur Golfers to compete. The format of the WATC is as follows – Each team has two or three players play four rounds, of 18 holes, of stroke play. In each round, the total of two lowest scores from each team constitutes the team score for that round. The four-day (72-hole) total is the team’s score for the championship.
