Hester Wins the EGF Stableford Challenge After Count Back

75Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) members from across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took the course on August 16, 2014 at Yas Links Abu Dhabi to take part in EGF Stableford Challenge, sponsored by Rotana Hotels – Yas Island. Ishmon Hester came out on top after shooting 42 Stableford points and winning the back 9 count back.

Yas Links Abu Dhabi Championship Course is designed by the world-renowned architect Kyle Phillips. Playing at 7,414 yards, Yas Links Abu Dhabi was the ideal venue for the EGF Stableford Challenge. Being the number one rated golf course in the Middle East, EGF Members got to experience the value that Yas Links Abu Dhabi brings to the region.

After putting together a fantastic round on a challenging golf course, Ishmon Hester, a member at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club, claimed the first place prize. Hester shot 42 Stableford points and won on the back nine count back. Hester playing off a 10.5 handicap, scored 23 points on the back nine after scoring 21 points on the front nine.

Saleh Al Ameri, a member of Abu Dhabi City Golf Club came in second place. Al Ameri collected 22 points on the front nine and 20 points on the back nine for a total of 42 Stableford points. Al Ameri plays off of a 10.3 handicap.

Finishing in third place was female competitor Peggy O’Dea, a member of The Montgomerie Dubai. O’Dea plays off a handicap of 11.5. Peggy scored 41 Stableford points for the event.
