With the help from Mark Needs, a teacher at American School of Dubai, in the past 5 months National and Expat junior golfers have competed in four events that took place on The Track, Meydan Golf Club.

For the 2013-2014 season Dubai College ran away with the title. Dubai College had a team stableford score of 261 over 4, 9-hole rounds. With four junior golfers having a handicap under 10, Dubai College commanded the entire season.

The Emirates Golf Federation had a batch of junior golfers that competed in the 2013-2014 Dubai Schools League. Finishing in eighth place the EGF will use this experience and season to build on for future events and season. The EGF had a team stableford score of, 171.

The next step for the Dubai Schools League is to expand the league to include more schools and attempting to develop a Dubai vs Abu Dhabi match, or a culminating UAE Schools Championship event. Most importantly, at the moment golf is not an "official" sport in schools. Golf has no part in athletics or physical educational programs at any Dubai schools. It is the desire of Diya Chopra and Mark Needs, with the backing of the Dubai Schools League to create awareness of the benefits that golf offers students and schools. Not only is golf a sport that promotes an active lifestyle but it teaches honesty and integrity. These curriculums and teams will include regular practice, coaching and, a full season of competition. The next Dubai School League is looking to start up again in November. Dates and venues will be finalized in September schools are back in session.

Sectary General of the Emirates Golf Federation, Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi commented. "One of our roles at the federation is to support initiatives that come from Junior Development Programs within the UAE. The Dubai Schools League has grown from strength to strength, and we are very pleased to continue the growth of the game within the region"
