NSR has signed an exclusive partnership with Carian College Advisors, the GCC’s leading American Educational Consultancy based in Dubai, to help Abdullah find the right balance in both academics and athletics. Both Carian and NSR help students find the proper “fit” when applying to American universities. Where NSR focuses on the promotion of athletes, Carian will focus on US University admission guidance, including essay brainstorming and revision, mock interviews, extracurricular development, recommendation guidance, and overall application strategy, which Abdullah will need in order to attend college in the USA. This past application cycle, Carian helped UAE students secure admission to Stanford, Brown, Columbia, Penn, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, UCLA, and Chicago, among others. Abdullah met with Lance Easton, NSR’s Director of Scouting, to discuss procedures and strategies that Abdullah needs to develop in order for to achieve his goals. Not only will Abdullah have to work hard on the golf course, but also in the gym, and most importantly in the classroom.
Abdullah has amassed a number of Golf accolades on his CV, with the most recent achievement being a UAE Junior National Team victory at the 2014 GCC Golf Championship. This was the latests of the back-to-back victories secured in 2013 and 2014 for Abdullah and the UAE Junior National Team.
Meeting with the NSR was a great learning experience for Abdullah, as he will face the challenges of applying to US universities and securing an Athletics scholarship in the months to come. Abdullah is looking to secure a spot on a highly competitive Division I golf team, while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Management.
Abdullah is a great example of the positive impact and progress that the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) and UAE National Team program is having on junior golf across the United Arab Emirates.
