Alfredo Kraus Theatre :
Alfredo Kraus is a theatre located near Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria . It is one of the most important buildings of the island .
It was built between 1993 and 1997 with the idea of building a lighthouse to protect the beach of Las Canteras . Its name is in honour of the great opera singer who was born in Las Palmas de G . C .
In this theatre are performed dancing shows , plays , concerts … and the Cinema Festival of the city .
Pérez Galdós Theatre
Pérez Galdós theatre is the main theatre of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria . It is located in the southeast of the district of Triana , one of the main shopping streets in Vegueta . The theatre is near the sea , on the left bank of the mouth of the Guiniguada ravine . It is one of the most emblematic monuments of the city and after the reform that culminated in 2007 , one of the most modern theaters in Spain .
It receives the name of the great XIX century writer Benito Pérez Galdós who was born in Las Palmas .
