EXCHANGING MORE THAN IDEAS And maybe because there are so many students from different places in our school, we are so eager to know other people and how they live. Each year, there is an exchange student project promoted by the Department of German Language. First, a group of students comes from a high school in Germany to stay in some of our partners’ houses and a few weeks later a group of students of this high school visits them in Germany. While they are here they spend some time inside the classrooms so they can see the methodology used by teachers and the different subjects we have, our timetables and the relationship between students and teachers and students. But they also visit the main landmarks and spend some time with their host families so they see our customs too. It is a very interesting experience because all we learn about other culture, other educational system and, of course, we are able to practice both languages, Spanish and German (even English sometimes). Second year compulsory education students also have their opportunity visiting England every year. This is a cultural trip where students can visit cities like London, Oxford or Cambridge and of course their beautiful landscapes and landmarks. Besides, they can speak English in a real context. Last year, they wrote an article about their experience in The Student´s Cavern, our digital English magazine. They had so fun!! This year, the Department of French language is also organizing a trip to France. They are planning to visit Paris and so the Louvre museum and the Eiffel tower. Some of our colleagues in the 4th year A group who study French are coming. They are really exciting! It is great to be able to know other cultures and people from all over the world. We learn so much!
