MAY Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition (XO, PS4, PC)
Yooka-Laylee A not-really-needed-but-welcome-nonetheless
remaster of an overlooked shooter that boasts plenty
of fun. Also has a script that includes the line “I
named him Waggleton P. Tallylicker, but I never got
the chance to tell him.” 8/10
Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition
(PC, Android, iOS)
It’s cute and charming, but this love letter to N64-
era 3D platformers brings with it a host of problems,
including finnicky controls, a terrible camera, and
fourth wall-breaking jokes that fall surprisingly
flat. If you have fond memories of Spyro and Banjo
Kazooie, you might find this worthwhile, but it’s not
for everyone. 6/10
Bayonetta (PC)
Apparently it’s remaster season, so Beamdog has
released a well-timed Enhanced Edition of the CRPG
classic game. Some of the systems feel a little dated,
but the story is still powerful and well-written. 9/10
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)
The PlatinumGames classic makes a belated
appearance on PC. This is action at its finest; if you
missed Bayonetta when it came out on Xbox 360 and
PS3 you owe it to yourself to pick this up. 9/10
Another remaster? Well, more of a re-release on a
new system, but the Switch version of Mario Kart 8
brings with it all of the DLC from the Wii U version,
some new tracks, and a revamped battle mode. Its the
best version of an exceptional game. 9/10
