In case you didn’t already know, Creeper are on course
for world domination right now. Off the back of an
absolutely incredible reception to their debut album
‘Eternity, In Your Arms’, they set out on their biggest
UK tour to date, most of which sold out before the
album was released. Tonight is the final date of what
has been a monumental tour and tonight, Creeper
will go out in truly beautiful style.
Opening tonight are a trio of talented bands, all of
which bring something unique to the table. Puppy
are up first with firey riffs and whole load of banter,
followed by American horrorpunks Energy. Their
vocalist Jason is a mesmerising creature, especially as
he creeps around the stage during the ever so spooky
‘The Witching Hour.’ Milk Teeth finish off tonight’s
warm up with an arrogant swagger that actually
works in their favour. They get the crowd moving and
Creeper’s very own Sean even makes an appearance
for a quick scream.
The truth is though, that tonight the crowd are only
here for one band and that band is Creeper. From
the moment the opening words of ‘Black Rain’
resonate through the speakers the crowd surges in
both movement and mind and you can feel there is
something magical happening here. Young teenagers
and veteran moshers alike bounce about with lost
inhibition as vocalist, Will, pours his heart into every
lyric he sings. From new tracks such as ‘Suzanne’ and
‘Poison Pens’ to old favourites such as ‘Lie Awake’ and
‘Astral Projection’, Creeper perform faultlessly, with
abundant energy and love. It’s like they were born to
do this. As the night continues through the circle pits
of ‘Valentine’ and the ferocious applause and chants
for keyboardist, Hannah, after a tender 4 minutes for
‘Crickets’, it is evident that tonight means the world to
the fans just as much as it does the band.
