But I knew full well , when I was applying for the job what game I was going for . I think I saw an opportunity to learn more about this iconic franchise and to work on my fear . I gave myself the time to play through almost all of the RE games and I absolutely love them . But I ’ m still terrified of them !
What is your favourite game in the series ?
My favourite game in the series has to be Resident Evil 0 . I know it ’ s not the popular opinion but I find it very strong from a story point of view . I also absolutely love Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen . I really think they worked very well together and I couldn ’ t be happier to see more of Officer Chambers in Resident Evil Vendetta !
What other games do you play ?
I play a lot of different games . One of my all time favourite is Yoshi ’ s Island . But what really got me into gaming was definitely World of Warcraft . I really love the concept of Online Gaming , being able to play with your bros and clearing big raids using strategy and skills .
Lately , I ’ ve been playing a lot of Rise of the Tomb Raider , Fallout 4 and Yakuza 0 . I love them all !
Resident Evil has a long history and some very passionate fans . How do you deal with the heated arguments and strong opinions from the fanbase ?
I ’ ve seen a lot of heated conversations pre-Resident Evil 7 as people were worried about , “ Where is my Jill and my Claire and my Leon ?!” I understand that and I see it as fans being passionate about the franchise . I know a lot of fans grew up with Resident Evil . Some people don ’ t like to see what they treasure most about the franchise changing , but at the same time , you can ’ t carry on doing the same thing over and over again . Resident Evil is a franchise that has revolutionised the gaming industry and Capcom likes to push the series in new and exciting areas , allowing it to remain relevant and compelling !

PSVR support is a big selling point for those gamers who have the Playstation VR kit . Will the game support other VR platforms in the future ( Oculus Rift , VIVE etc ?)
Capcom really embraced cutting-edge , new technology with the PSVR and I really think that thanks to the awesome minds behind RE7 , the new game engine really shines from both a graphical and sound perspective . Currently there are no plans for other platforms .
You can make any one video game character real for a day . Who would you choose and what would you do with them ?
I would pick Chris Redfield just so he can punch a boulder for me !
Joking aside , I would probably choose Dusty from Gravity Rush ! First he is a cat , who doesn ’ t love cats ?! Second he would give me gravity power ! I would then explore the universe with my mighty cat by my side , trying to find out if there are any other lifeforms in the universe and report all my discoveries to NASA !
And finally , who is RE7 ’ s “ Redfield ”?
Well now … Interesting question isn ’ t it ? Unfortunately , I ’ m not keen on spoilers and I ’ m not going to spill any beans today ! Not even Lucas Baker could get that information out of me ! But all I can say is , watch this space , we have some cool stuff coming !
