It was now time for the huge force from Denmark , also known as ‘ Volbeat ’; since hitting the Music scene back in 2001 , Volbeat have developed a huge reputation across Europe after featuring at some of the biggest festivals like Wacken and Rock Am Ring . After releasing their 6th studio album ‘ Seal The Deal And Let ’ s Boogie ’ earlier this year , the band like Gojira , also had the perfect chance to showcase their new material and play some of their huge anthems to the Birmingham crowd . The band started with one of their new tracks ‘ The Devil ’ s Bleeding Crown ’, and from the outset , everyone enjoyed the classic Volbeat rock and roll rhythms and vibes . Fans got to enjoy 11 tracks in total , with songs such as ‘ Lola Montez ’, ‘ For Evigt ’, and ‘ Seal The Deal ’. The band also invited fans onto the stage with them to enjoy their closing track ‘ Still Counting ’ which was a fantastic gesture in its own right !
After over 2 hours of fantastic supporting music , it was now time for the headline act ‘ Alterbridge ’; with the world-renowned front man in Myles Kennedy and guitar maestro Mark Tremonti , Alterbridge have been of the most successful and influential rock bands of the 21st century . On the night of Myles Kennedys ’ 47th birthday , fans could celebrate the night with the band on what was a very special night of the bands ’ catalogue of rock anthems . Fans were treated to a huge 15-track set list , and 2-track Encore with hits such as ‘ Addicted To Pain ’, ‘ My Champion ’, ‘ Metalingus ’ and ‘ Rise Today ’. The consistency in delivery throughout this huge set was very heartwarming , and you could feel the delight amongst every member of the Birmingham audience knowing that they had just witnessed something special . Alterbridge definitely showed why they are the cream of the crop in rock and roll today !
Overall , this was a highly entertaining and heartfelt evening in Birmingham , and a real showcase of the global talent that the Music industry has to offer . Let ’ s hope that all bands are here to stay for a long time to come !
