At first, I just pictured the light, but no source for it. Eventually, from Tree Pose, arms raised as branches reaching for the sky, I began to intentionally draw healing light into my body from the spiritual plane, and I started to purposefully consider each chakra, seeing them open, expand, and flow healing energy from one to another.

Through chest-opening poses, I began coalescing that light at my heart chakra, allowing love and compassion to take over the anger and fear that had been lodged there.

Through bridges and back bends, I began to realize just how much I'd always curled into myself, in an effort to hide - hide myself, my body, my fear, my anger, my anxiety, and my mistakes.

The more I opened my body, the more I became a conduit. I began to receive divine downloads - whole blocks of writing - out of nowhere. I went from barely having a will to live to understanding a greater purpose.

I went from believing I was being punished to having a vision, from believing life is just a living hell to knowing healing is possible.

To knowing our traumas and tragedies contain lessons that refine us, so we can better understand each other, have love and compassion for each other, and help each other.

When yoga becomes a spiritual thing, a method of connecting with the divine - and to the divine within - it becomes a powerhouse of healing.

It's a force that connects you to what grounds you; to your passion and creativity, to your instincts, to your love and compassion, to your voice, to your sixth sense, to your spirit guides and guardians.

It expands your consciousness, opens your awareness, and aligns you with your life’s purpose.

Yoga has certainly provided many benefits throughout the years I've practiced, but it's spiritual impact has been the most life-altering…

the most life-saving.

It helped me save my soul three years ago, and it continues to be the most important way I connect to myself, my intuitive knowing, the spiritual realm, my reason for being here in this time and place, and to all those called to help humanity heal.
