How They Met
Melissa and Andrew met at a Halloween pub night during their undergrad. He
was dressed as Tupac Shakur and she was dressed as a police officer. Needless
to say, they had very little in common. However, despite the odds against them
falling in love, they did. It seems in this case, opposites attracted.
The Ceremony
Since Melissa is Catholic and Andrew is Orthodox Christian, they decided
to celebrate their ceremony by having priests from both churches lead the
procession. That way, they were able to get the best of both worlds with a
traditional catholic ceremony and a traditional orthodox ceremony.
The Reception & Decor
Fresh florals were combined with antique gold and champagne decor to bring
to life Melissa’s vision of a French garden. The reception—planned and designed by Bridal Solutions—used a palette of ivory, peach, dusty rose and
green to flood the room with florals, which included hydrangea, quicksand
roses, sahara roses and pink lisianthus. The focal point of the room was the
grand 27-foot wide backdrop crawling with vines, framed with fresh flowers
and monogrammed with a French quote in gold cursive. The entire setup far
exceeded Melissa and Andrew’s expectations.
