The Ceremony | The couple decided to say, “I do” in front of family and
friends at Vanessa’s childhood church. During the Roman Catholic mass that
took place, a live singer as well as instrumentalists playing the piano and violin
provided music. One of the most memorable moments for the bride and groom
during the ceremony was when their mothers took part in the tradition of light-
ing unity candles.
The Reception | Nick and Vanessa hosted a lively Assyrian (groom) and
Italian (bride) reception to 360 guests. Once they entered the hall, all of the
guests lined up and created a circle around them dancing in traditional fashion
while drummers lead the line. Everyone indulged in delicious food from start to
finish with an antipasto bar, five-course meal and midnight table comprised of
traditional desserts and Italian pastries.
The Decor | The atmosphere that RL Designs Inc. created for Nick and
Vanessa’s reception was a magical fairytale. White and blush florals filled
the candlelit room with fragrance and beauty, while crystal candelabra, silver
tableware and sequin tablecloths added a touch of sparkle. At the couple’s
head table, a breathtaking backdrop consisted of blush draping and three white
wainscot panels decorated with orchids, hydrangeas and roses. At the centre of
the room to ground it all was a personalized dance floor monogrammed with the
couple’s names.
