Flowers, Linens & Decor: Creations Special Events | CreationsDecor.com | 416-418-8459 La Vie en Rose The Ceremony | To bring to life Diane’s vision of romance and elegance in the courtyard of the Liberty Grand, Creations Special Events lined the aisle with cream-coloured flowers accented by blush and greenery. At the draped arch where they exchanged vows, a chandelier made up of wisteria hung above them. A cellist and vio- linist provided live music, starting with “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” as guests were escorted to their seats, followed by “La Vie en Rose” by Edith Piaf when the procession began. When Diane walked down the aisle with her father, Elvis Presley’s “Fools Rush In” was her song of choice. The Reception | Immediately following the ceremony, guests were served cocktails and refreshments. When the curtains pulled back for the reception and the guests took their seats, Nicholas and Diane were introduced to Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much.” For their first dance, “Nothing Can Come Between Us” by Sade played. Keeping the guests well fed throughout the night was a four-course Mediterranean meal followed by a deluxe sweet table and Trinidadian-inspired late night food station. Each place setting was fixed with a homemade Trinidad pepper sauce favour. The Decor | Debbie from Creations Special Events far exceeded Diane’s expecta- tions when it came to the flowers and decor. White wisteria framed the sweetheart table where the newlyweds sat; a white baroque seating chart led all the guests to their seats; and tables featured centrepiece spotlights alongside tall floral arrangements. Through- out cocktail hour and dinner, lavender lighting set the mood. As the reception transi- tioned to party mode, lighting changed to soft blue. 81
