Turns out, they were in the same grade and even lived on the same street. Before they knew it, they became good friends. Not long after, Joseph mustered up the courage to ask his newfound crush Stephanie to be his girlfriend. She said yes, but sadly, it only lasted a day. Despite the break up, Stephanie and Joseph always liked each other. When high school came around, they remained friends and even attended semi-formal and prom together but never dated. It wasn’t until their second year at McMaster University that they finally got together. On May 16, 2016, Joseph set up the romantic proposal of Stephanie’s dreams at one of her favourite buildings, Casa Loma, in Toronto. The Ceremony | To honour the couple’s heritage, Stephanie and Joseph decided to have a traditional orthodox ceremony at his childhood church. Along with read- ings in Italian, several portions of the ceremony took place in English and Arabic to accommodate all the guests. In traditional fashion, crowns were placed above the bride and groom’s heads to symbolize them as the new king and queen of their family. For decoration, two gorgeous 10-foot-tall cherry blossom trees flanked the entrance to the aisle that lead to two large pink floral arrangements in gold urns framing the couple at the altar. 107
