Carbon8lighting fittings have a reputation for reliability , however occasionally a component fault or failure can happen . One call and an advance replacement fitting will then be sent to site . Once exchanged Carbon8 will arrange for the collection of the faulty fitting .

The Retractor was the main attraction at the Olson Electronics stand . This new retracting function for its range of suspended PDUs is aimed at enhancing the range , in response to customer feedback . The Retractor is ideal for industrial applications that call for a suspended , strong and compact PDU .
Hotcost used ED & I as a platform to showcase its electrical and mechanical estimating services to a large audience . The Hotcost team spoke with clients , old and new , to create new relationships and strengthen existing ones .
The team interacted with new suppliers and wholesalers to learn about the latest technologies , products and innovations within the industry , which the company says helps it to improve the services it offers .
Carbon8Lighting put on show its diverse range of commercial and industrial LED light fittings .
Exhibition attendees were interested in finding out about Carbon8 ’ s tailoring service , which offers everything from fitting plugs to designing bespoke heat shields . Pre-delivery tailoring means that installation takes less time on site and this means fewer potential hiccups and greater profits .
Another feature of Carbon8 which caught visitors ’ eyes was Carbon8 ’ s five-year Premier Care Warranty .
Making a difference
A number of industry bodies and associations – including the ECA , BEAMA , and JIB – were also present at the event , answering questions and offering advice . The ECA announced the winners of the Power Players awards as 26-year-old project manager Joseph Wu of T Clarke , and 24-year-old Charlie Harwood , a branch manager of CEF .
Joseph and Charlie won a number of prizes , including a networking trip to next October ’ s NECA conference in Philadelphia , lunch with business guru Sir John Parker and participation in a fundraising trip next March to Arctic Finland with the Electrical Industries Charity .
“ It ’ s refreshing to see the ECA providing a platform for young professionals within the construction industry and demonstrates that anything can be achieved with hard work and determination ,” commented Joseph . “ This has been a great experience for me to be involved with and I strongly recommend this initiative to future participants .”

“ A massive thank you to everybody involved in helping towards this great achievement , particularly group manager Paul Church and general manager Tony Betteridge for their support and guidance throughout . Also a huge thank you to the ECA for hosting such an amazing initiative – it was fantastic to be a part of it ,” added Charlie . The Electrical Industries Charity , meanwhile , reminded delegates of what the industry could be doing to help those in need .
The charity highlighted a number of the projects it is running to raise money for people within the electrical industry who need a helping hand , as well as the ways in which companies can get involved to offer much needed skills to people who need them by its practical participation programme .
Winning big
A number of competitions and prize draws were run throughout the two days of the expo , giving attendees a several opportunities to take home a prize .
All delegates to the expo had their name entered into a hat to win an iPad . At the end of the event , Chris Bourne of Bourne Digital was was selected as the lucky winner .
Ian Dando of Dando Testing won a Virgin Experience Day after he beat British darts player Mark Dudbridge in a 501 / 301 competition at the Marshall Tufflex stand .
Tim Steele of AICO Ltd got the best score at the mini golf challenge , completing the course in 16 strokes , and winning a golfing experience day .
Jordan Bancroft of Imtech got the fastest lap on the show ’ s F1 simulator , and took home a driving experience day .
For a good cause
At the evening networking dinner , three winners took home prizes from a charity raffle draw on behalf of the the Electrical Industries Charity .
Harry Bartle of Chris Bowker Ltd won a helicopter trip for two .
Julie Fox of Luxbox Ltd won a Hotel Chocolat hamper .
Kate Wilson of Credible Communications won a bottle of champagne .
A total of £ 1,158.31 was raised on behalf of the charity .
The Electrical Industries Charity reminded delegates what the industry could be doing to help those in need .
