PLUG IN TO ON-SITE TIME SAVINGS

Custom modular trunking from WAGO .

For site electricians on large projects time is money . Screwing in and checking countless wire terminations can be a tedious job , and as building cabling becomes more complex , electricians have to put in more hours ensuring that every connection is screwed in securely and safely . However , companies like WAGO have a solution that is helping to make things easier , freeing up skilled electricians from low level wiring tasks to enable them to concentrate on more specialised jobs elsewhere .

WAGO ’ s custom modular trunking combines cabling and electrical interfaces for all lighting , HVAC , mains power and I / O into one integrated pre-assembled system . The trunking is assembled in incremental lengths and wired up to specification at WAGO ’ s project centre in Rugby . The facility ’ s central location in the
East Midlands means that assemblies can be quickly delivered to almost anywhere in the UK , reducing on- site lead times significantly and enabling more efficient allocation of labour .
Spring pressure connection
At the heart of the trunking is WAGO ’ s WINSTA pluggable connection and cabling system which , via a series of harmonised plugs and sockets , connects all electrical installations and components to the appropriate termination . The connectors plug together and are keyed to avoid mismating , significantly reducing installation errors . It also reduces the need for wiring tasks at height , improving overall site health and safety . WAGO ’ s spring pressure connection technologies mean that , once connected , wiring and terminations remain secure and free from maintenance due to comprehensive vibration and

overload protections . This eliminates the need to spend more time regularly checking connections at a later date .
Once delivered to site , the cabling can be easily plugged together by nonelectrician staff at ground level before the trunking is raised into its final position . Qualified electricians are only needed on site , and in far fewer numbers , for final wiring and testing , saving time and allowing skilled labour to be allocated to more complex and / or lucrative jobs . Outsourcing assemblies of this type does have a higher upfront cost , but this is typically far outweighed by the savings made in reduced time and labour costs on site .
Once in place and connected up , the custom trunking assembly also makes life much easier for BMS system integrators , who can be confident that the pluggable WINSTA system practically eliminates the possibility of any wiring errors .
