Sheriff's Posse

Thrive with 10-35

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Posse has evolved much in the past decade. Traditionally, a "posse" would imply assistance by horseback, however, that is not the case.

The Sheriff's Office Posse all have a common interest in offering support to our agency, and they do so in a variety of ways. Although Posse members are not deputized and have no law enforcement powers, the Posse is in place to assist the Sheriff and Sheriff’s Office in a time of need.

This past year, the Posse made donations to the

following ancillary groups of the Sheriff’s Office;

Explorers, Sierra Law Enforcement Chaplaincy,

STARs and the Peace Officer’s Memorial Fund. In

turn, each of these non-profit groups has assisted

the Posse in some manner benefiting the

Sheriff’s Office.

The Posse is also enthusiastic about their

Scholarship program that is open to graduating seniors whose parents are employed by the

Sheriff’s Office.

The Posse is an integral part of the support

mechanism for the Sheriff’s Office and the Posse

members are very proud of their organization

and what it represents. They are always there in

the time of need, serving wholeheartedly and

never expect recognition or accolades. The

Sheriff’s Office cannot thank the Posse enough

for all the support throughout the years.

"The members of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Posse support members and their families of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office enthusiastically, financially, and in any other capacity deemed appropriate in time of need."

Thrive with 10-35 was established at the

El Dorado County Sheriff's Office in 2011 when Sheriff D'Agostini recognized the need for family support.  The mission of the organization is to promote the well-being of all Sheriff Office members and their families.

They provide information; support and practical assistance to help law enforcement families successfully survive and thrive during the Sheriff's Office employee's law enforcement career and beyond.  Their hope is to better equip employees and their families to manage the challenges of law enforcement, that spouses and partners will feel more secure and connected to their love ones, and law enforcement marriages and relationships will be more stable.

The group is broken down into six committees; Executive, Assimilation, Connection and Assistance, Encouragement, Events, Education and Critical Incident.
