SKATEBOARDING DAY WOMEN’S HEALTH SUMMER CLASSES
The Orange County Vans
Skatepark is hosting a free
skate session Tuesday, June
21 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in
honor of Go Skateboarding
Day. The holiday, founded
in 2004 by the International
Association of Skateboard
Companies, has grown into a
worldwide celebration of the
sport. Vans is also hosting a
High Ollie contest at 1 p.m.,
with the winner receiving a
$200 Vans gift card.
—Aaron Olivares Target and Mother’s Market
now offer eco-friendly
maxi-pads, such as Seventh
Generation and This is L., that
are 100 percent cotton and are
biodegradable. Commercial
brand pads and tampons are
often made with harsh chemi-
cals and synthetic fibers, which
run the risk of harming a wom-
an’s reproductive system or
inducing other diseases such as
heart disease, cancer or organ
damage. Seventh Generation
is available at Target stores and
This is L. is available at Mother’s
Market locations.
—Sabrina Zamora Students can register for Santa
Ana College summer courses,
with classes beginning June
18 running through Aug. 12.
Alongside regular courses,
SAC also offers about 50 open
educational resources (OER)
or zero-textbook cost courses
(ZTC) and over 100 online or
hybrid classes. Students can
view available courses on
the SAC Course Catalog and
register on WebAdvisor.
