DARK SHADOWS…
BLITHERING LONGINGS!

Life creeps me by stealthily
every second I reckon,
trying to arrest the sawdust
of each gone moment!
In the clefts of my reminiscences
I perceive dark shadows,
shifting shapes, embracing oblivion
searching solace in the comforts
of the numbness of my senses
long departed from riposte!

On remembrance I surmise
why my presence curls up every so often,
created in the fringes of my existence
grey dusky dimness has its place
in the intimacy of my solitariness,
have warmer hues
than the dark shadows I soak in
every time I seek your succour!

Roohi Ahmad is a journalist by profession, holds
a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication
(Public Relations and Journalism) and a
Master’s degree in Sociology. She has previously
written for B2B (trade) magazines in the fields
of aviation, hospitality (also food), health and
travel extensively. Now, she works for an entertainment website as a writer and coordinator.
