“Don’t expect the ordinary”, the slogan of
EESTEC Competition for Android, this year
managed to make itself be more than a simple slogan, becoming the anticipation of a
successful edition. This project is one of the
most important assignment of the Chairwoman’s Department. The first automatic question
could be: What on earth is that about?
Trying to be short and clear, we can say that
EESTEC Competition for Android has as main
objective to say, loudly, that “the future is
ours”.
It is in fact, a competition for young programmers (under 30 years old), that aims at motivating and opening the first door to them, in
Android development. The participants have
the opportunity to propose new mobile applications, starting from the basic ideas to
the final implementation of them, all carefully
evaluated by a panel of experts. This year, in
its third edition, the competition received the
participation of over 250 ideas from all around
the world, until the final stage, which led to the
final evaluation of more than 30 applications.
The project was firstly coordinated by Burak
Ayan (LC Istanbul), and then, from late November, the general coordination has been
taken by Marco Cavaliere (LC Cosenza).
The main structure of the organizing committee was consisting of three teams: Management Team coordinated by Angelos Karatsidis (JLC Xanthi), FR Team coordinated by
Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk (LC Krakow), and PR
Team coordinated by Quino Esteban Rojas
(LC Madrid).
With the right reinforcement of the team, that
saw itself growing by reaching more than 15
people totally involved, and a collective careful planning, it was possible to reach extremely satisfying results.
