Darija Šalehar
Magazine Team Coordinator
LC Ljubljana
Every good story comes to an end. Writing
this introduction made me think of all 3 years
I have spent as an active EESTECer. When I
joined our organization, I had never thought
that it will bring me the craziest memories,
valuable skills and so many great friends. Of
course there were a lot of hard moments too
with big lack of motivation when I wanted to
put everything aside, but somehow I have always found a way back, a new opportunity
which challenged me, has brought even higher wave of motivation.
Sometimes it was difficult to explain both
motivation and passion towards EESTEC to
some of my friends. They couldn’t understand
why I am putting so much energy and hard
work into the organization and I think they
never completely will, because they have never experienced the true EESTEC spirit.
What is this famous spirit actually?
By the time I am writing those words not even
a single page of this issue of Magazine is created. Final phase of article collecting is coming any day soon and we will finally sit in front
of computer screen for long hours to shape
form of those words. Really long hours, sometimes sacrificed in unexpected moments of
our spare time.
Never give up on something that you are passionate about and always remember that the
most exciting adventures are always starting
at the end of your comfort zone. Challenge
yourself and never stop looking for new opportunities.
Enjoy reading the following pages full of great
memories!
I also remember moments after publication
of previous issue. Our heads exploded with
thousands of new ideas how to improve next
one and fill it with brilliance. We immediately wrote them down. When I was giving one
idea, Darija was replying with next two ones.
We spent a long time just on thinking about
this issue.
I remember very well last minute improvements and changes for previous issue done
on ECM's second day. I was sitting all night
long to finalize issue after sudden change of
specification from printing house. I had party
going next door. Funny thing is that I finished
long after them.
The definition is not really clear and everyone
understand it in their own way. I feel it in the
moments after sleepless nights when you are
having the best time with people you have just
met, at the end of the long project with my LC
and even while working together with people I
have never met in person.
For sure it is a key ingredient which drives
our organization forward. I realized it during a
skype interview with one of the earlier members of EESTEC when he was talking about
his memories and I am realizing it during the
review of all articles which compose this issue
of EESTEC Magazine.
So really plenty of hours and a lot of sacrifice
is coming again soon from me and my fellow
Design Team members. I am incredibly excited about that and can't wait to work until
dawn once again.
Probably amount of time and surprises will be
the same also this time. Amount of pages to
format and correct at least five times per each.
Amount of moments when you want to throw
your keyboard through the window. One thing
will be different though.
