A week before Easter each year we do the Easter theme with two of our classes (Purple, 5 to 7 years and Green, 3 to 4 years). We discuss the Biblical aspect during our Bible periods starting with Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, and build forth on this until the day of Jesus’ crucifixion. Our creative activity also centres on the Easter theme. This year we made our picture as follows: • • • • • • • We took an A3 page of clean paper and the children drew a mountain on it (Golgotha). They painted the background light blue. They cut and pasted the figures of people (silhouettes seen from behind). All of us took egg shells collected by the parents, rinsed them, painted them brown and then crushed them into fine pieces. Then we painted black crosses on the mountain. The children pasted the egg shells on the crosses to give the effect of wood. Finally they pasted sand on various places on the mountain.
