In May 1966 (51 years ago), in the Faculty's second year of operation, the first Bachelor of
Education degrees (1-year certificate program) were conferred at convocation by the Faculty of
Education, Regina Campus (University of Saskatchewan). The 4-year B.Ed. program was launched
in 1966-67, and its distinctive feature was the semester-long internship that still exists today. 1
