  Meet the Staff: Amy Lopp, Business Development Specialist  As Business Development Specialist for Athens‐Clarke County Economic Development,  Amy Lopp is responsible for the crea on and execu on of proac ve recruitment  strategies to a ract business and industry to Athens‐Clarke County.  She works closely  with state and regional partners to enhance economic development networks in our area  and provides real estate and development‐related data to prospec ve clients and the  general public.  Amy graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Landscape Architecture  and has held various roles in the real estate development sector in both Georgia and  Colorado.  When she’s not out talking to folks about what a great place Athens is to live and work,  you can find Amy with her family enjoying the outdoors.  She and her husband are avid  backpackers, having completed a thru‐hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2008.  They  currently live on a small farm with their two children where they raise chickens, cows,  and bees as well as tending to fruits and vegetables.    Amy joined our department in the newly created posi on, Business Development  Specialist, on February 2, 2015.  Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau Sales Report   Future Bookings Future Room Nights Attendees Estimated Economic Impact September 2014 10  4,024  3,640  $1.1M  October 2014 17  6,445  10,665  $3.7M  November 2014 15  6,940  5,074  $2.6M  December 2014 5  1,110  2,610  $1.2M  Total for Quarter 31  18,519  21,989  $8.6M  YTD 79  42,146  42,580  $20.2M  Future Bookings are confirmed events under contract with a venue and/or hotels. Future Room Nights are the number of rooms secured on behalf of the event with rate commitments and group contracts. Attendees is the estimated number of people to attend the contracted events. Economic Impact is estimated using the following formulas from Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI)- estimated spending per day per attendee is $214.64 for conventions, $297.11 for conventions with trade shows and $150.27 for a sporting event.
