22 EDITÉUR PLUS chooses to shoot with a Canon 5D and a 50 mm 1.2 prime lens. Though she en- joys most forms of portrait photography, two stand out as her preferred styles: fashion portraiture and weddings. She loves the detail and style of fashion, but says, ‘I’ am a real softy, so I love capturing the emotion of [a wedding day].’ She also loves the fact that she is able to travel and meet interesting people as part of job. ‘All I want is for people to see real emotion in my photography,’ says Anna. For someone looking at a picture, seeing that emotion does much for the soul. It elicits an emotional response on the part of the viewer revealing our humanity. At the same time, the emotion can stir strength and inspire. To aspiring photographers she would say, ‘Never give up!’ Though photography is a tough industry, she is proof that if a photographer has the skills and uses networking opportunities with fellow photographers, one can find a place in the market. ‘We all have our own unique style and our unique outlook on life and that is what will set you apart from the rest.’ She believes that growth comes through trial and error, so all young photographers need do is keep shooting.
