MEET ANNA PEPPER

Anna Pepper is a photographer with a lot of soul. She brings soul to a
photo shoot and draws soul out of the models who are the subjects
of her artwork, and she stirs the souls of her followers, as they scroll
through the moving and inspiring images in her portfolio. ‘I have always
been a creative soul,’ begins Anna. Growing up with a grandfather and
uncle photographer, Anna was exposed to the art form from an early
age going along to shoots and helping to find locations to shoot at.
Anna studied Art Direction at City Varsity, and then worked as a make-
up artist for MAC Cosmetics. After 8 years at MAC, she decided to
leave and become a freelancer. It was only when she moved to Gauteng
in 2013 that photography began to come to the fore as a profession.
Anna’s career as a photographer began when she started experimenting
with different shots and angles while still working as a makeup artist.
The friends and contacts she made during that time opened up oppor-
tunities for her to learn more and collaborate with photographers with
whom she could identify. She is grateful or the opportunities she has
had in the short 2 years she has been shooting professionally.
Elzane, a friend and confidant for 16 years has been Anna’s ‘greatest
supporter and motivator from day one’. All creatives need a place from
which to draw strength and for Anna, that person has been Elzane. Anna
