young photographers. It is difficult to single out one or
two people from the friends, family and colleagues who
have supported her from the beginning of her journey
with LarryxTatum. ‘The support has been consistent and
very helpful during tough times.’ As she looks at the dif-
ficulties she has overcome in the past she is encouraged
to continue and stay motivated. ‘When you have trav-
elled far…to follow the work of your eager hands, quit-
ting is really not an option.’ She describes work as her
lifeline and values growth and continuously learning.
Besides her desire to grow her photography career and
brand, Lerato is also passionate about young people.
‘Sharing life experiences with them, grooming them and
witnessing their growth, tugs at my heartstrings.’ The
message that Lerato wants to send through her photos
is simple: ‘only YOU stand in the way of your dreams.’
She hopes that her photography inspires people to stop
merely living and live more passionately and intentional-
ly. Her photos demonstrate that what you aim to achieve,
can be attained. ‘You can aim high, as foolish as you may
seem, and hit the nail on the head, or even better, raise
