Apart from Yuri Arcurs , Lerato has been influenced by the talented photographer and videographer Aubrey Ndiweni ( on Instagram follow @ apetownshenanigans ) who has inspired her to develop her craft and find her own , unique voice and create a photographic offering that is true to her character . She creates art through her photography : art that is daring , emotive and cutting-edge .
Shooting with a Canon 600D and a standard issue 18- 55mm lens may raise an eyebrow or two , but Lerato is making the most of what she has . Her gear combined along with editing software like Photoshop , Capture One and SnapSeed help her produce her photographic artworks . Good photographers aren ’ t made by cameras and gear anyway . Her favourite shot is one of model and make-up artist Daff Kansley in a bathtub with one cup of milk proving that one can make magic with very little .
She deeply appreciates the fact that her job allows her focus on art and deliver products that have a voice . ‘ I am a student of life , and constantly chase growth , because you never attain enough ,’ she adds . Though she loves fashion photography , Lerato is quite keen to get into food photography , describing it as an anomaly amongst
