“I was living in Belfast when I decided to do a degree, and after seeing Trainspotting,
I decided I wanted to study in Edinburgh.
“The work experience aspect of the course at Edinburgh Napier really appealed to me;
it was clear they had strong links with key organisations in the city. The University invited a marketing
professional in to talk to us and I distinctly recall him saying that when he recruits for marketing jobs,
he treats those with a marketing degree in exactly the same way as those with a degree in history or
chemistry. But he went on to say that if you’ve got work experience in a marketing department; you will
stand out from the crowd.
