ENroute Yearbook 2015-16
A Final Word from the University ENroute Lead
It is an absolute privilege to be leading ENroute
for the University and I would like to extend
my thanks to everyone who has participated in
ENroute this past year. This includes all qualification
route students who completed one of our two
programmes and their Personal Development
Tutors, our experiential route participants and their
mentors, and, of course, the reviewers. I have gained
hugely from working with colleagues from the
Schools and Professional Services teams. Together
we have built the ENroute team and it truly has
become a learning community.
If you are interested - or know of someone who may
be interested - in gaining Fellowship please visit the
ENroute staff intranet pages. The ENroute team will
be delighted to offer guidance as to the best route to take.
Dr Fiona Smart,
University Lead for ENroute,
Senior Teaching Fellow
The Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement proudly run the
Postgraduate Certificate in Learning, Teaching and Assessment Practice in Higher
Education (LTAP) and the innovative Masters in Blended and Online Education (BOE).
Successfully completing either of these would lead to accreditation by the Higher
Education Academy at D2 level (Fellow).
In addition, we offer staff the opportunity to gain Fellowship via the experiential
route. Adding dialogue as an option within this route has further strengthened it. Of
note, Edinburgh Napier University is being recognised in the UK and further afield as
a leader in its use of dialogue to facilitate Fellowship claims.
In closing our first yearbook, I want to acknowledge that while ENroute exists
to enable individuals to gain Fellowship, it does much more than this because it
encourages us to keep talking about learning, teaching and assessment among
all of the other priorities we have to manage. Consequently, it enriches us all and
importantly enhances the student experience across every programme in the
University.
