cate that idea. For some, it is through the written word. For others, it is through stories. For other people, it is through music. It’s Art. It’s a language. It is a way to tell our stories, to leave behind a mark of who we were so that maybe, hundreds of years from now when somebody looks at The Bleeding Border, they can get a touch — through my eyes — of what I experienced and what I thought was important to say. It’s a part of history as well; it tells you what’s going on in our culture. When we look at any ancient culture, the only thing we have left behind is the things they made; it is their artifacts and their art. They are not there to tell their stories anymore, it’s what they left behind. We can leave behind garbage, that’s for sure, which is a lot of what we leave behind now. Technology is great, but it leaves behind a big trail of con- taminants when we can leave beau- tiful thin gs such as art. By beautiful, I don’t mean necessarily mean pretty, but “beautiful” in terms of that they engage us and make us think. Absolutely.
