The cuts would not only affect the ability of schools to provide services to the most vulnerable student population , but it would create difficulty for schools to meet

the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act .
“ Additionally , tens of thousands of California kids will lose access to schoolbased Medicaid services that offer vitally important services such as immunizations , asthma and diabetes treatments , and vision and hearing screenings .”

This , the associations note , would also provide disruptions to the education of other students and negatively affect the broader public health .
