North state conference packed with great information
ACSA members in the northern part of our state will be certain to be interested in the upcoming Regions 1-4 North State Spring Conference , taking place April 28-30 in Reno , NV .
The conference is packed with great information for all school leaders . Friday night ’ s keynote speaker will be ACSA Executive Director Wes Smith . He will talk about maintaining a solid work-life balance that will allow leaders to be fully engaged to lead for student success .
The presentation will seek to better understand the cycle of stress , renewal and recovery and how thriving amidst chaos requires intentionally strengthening our physical , mental , emotional , and spiritual selves .
Friday will also feature a Tech Slam and a session on Career Pathways .
Another keynote presentation sure to be of interest will be Hall Davidson , senior director of Global Learning Initiatives for Discovery Education .
Davidson will be taking a look at the future of teaching and learning . His presentation will examine how digital content and educational technologies are shaping the future of teaching and learning , and can be integrated into the classroom to improve student engagement and achievement .
This session will inform participants about what future classrooms may look like , and provoke thoughtful discussion around how schools are meeting the ever-changing needs of all students as well as the increasing demands of college and career expectations .
Saturday will feature a luncheon keynote from Bryan Goodwin , president and CEO of McREL International .
Goodwin will focus on bringing clarity to the plethora of information and initiatives in education .
This session will boil decades of research down to one key focal point for school leadership and offer practical ways to turn that focus into results — not by working longer hours or browbeating teachers , but rather , by flipping our leadership paradigm and getting everyone to work together with single-minded focus .
The closing keynote will be offered by the Story Queen , Barbara Hicks . She is certain to end things on an uplifting note with her presentation : Play at Work and Work at
