eCREATIVE When her paintings went on display at the holiday event in early December 2015, Heather posted an announcement to her friends on Facebook. “I was so nervous,” she noted. But her artwork was very well received and she was overwhelmed by all the comments of love and support she received. For Heather Wagner, creativity is “like ripping off the Velcro, seeing what’s inside, and then letting that out. It’s reaching into yourself and knowing who you are and loving it. I’m always amazed by what you find there.” Her advice to those with a budding passion for art is “Get messy and do it.” She recalls teaching a woman who told her she wasn’t an artist. Wagner told her to touch the paint and then rub it all over your hands. “Put away all your preconceived notions of what it should be,” she added. “Dive in and experience it. There is no wrong way. I always tell the kids to just keep doing this.” Wagner said she doesn’t think about the future because right now, she is very happy. Her sons, her family, and her students are among her biggest fans. “I’m so at ease and happy with where I am,” she noted. “I want to continue to grow and get
