Projects all seem to get completed in a systematic way largely because of Barbara’s calm demeanor and professional focus that is trusted and appreciated by her teams of engineers, her partners, and her staff. Barbara Pook and her team of engineers work to execute each architect’s idea. According to Pook, there is no aesthetic input. “It’s just how do we make it work in the space,” she says. The real technical and creative challenge is making the materials take the shape required and, at times, modifying the design to make the materials work in the space. This is where Barbara steps in to work with the architect and her firm.
