Cherie: I like to read about science and physics. If you understand the laws of nature, your creative brain, which I believe everyone has, can invent solutions. If you build upon this knowledge, it will work because you already have a built-in “proof of concept” that God has put into observable, measurable actions.

My husband, Adam, and I travel all over the world whenever possible riding our BMW GS 1200’s or on the COTA track riding my BMW 1000 RR and Adam on his Aprilia Tuono V4 1100RR. We love spending time with our daughter, Ashley, her handsome husband, Eli, and our son, Adam. We cherish every minute playing with our beautiful, brilliant granddaughter, Scarlet, who is five and now in kindergarten. Just a quick shout out to our son Adam who is raising Scarlet with primary custody and doing an amazing job!

Zelinda: What or who inspires you?

Cherie: Albert Einstein and the She/He-ro role models. My Austin tribe is an amazing group of cheerleaders and advisors. I could fill up 100 pages of people who inspire me. I’m blessed to have in my friend circle one of Austin’s most brilliant entrepreneurs, Melinda Garvey, co-founder of Austin Woman Magazine. She just launched an exciting new On The Dot audio newsletter with inspiring stories of women doing amazing things. Lisa Copeland, Sharon Lecture and Think Grow Rich for Women program plus one million other achievements, Lisa Beth Thomas, President of TWIB and a marketing genius, and Darlene Templeton founder of Amazing Women Alliance, keynote speaker, and one of my business strategists. Benna Cail who I co-pioneered The First Tee National School Program that brings golf and the 9 Core Values and 9 Healthy Habits to public school children all over the USA. We started with 48 students and this year we are celebrating 10 million students lives impacted! Benna is also the Founder of BC Strategy. Gayle Brittain, World Champion Rodeo All Around superstar. Mary Ann and Andrew Heller which would require another 100 pages to list all that they have done. Sam Alexander, one of the most forward thinkers I have ever met. Sam was also featured on the cover of Occhio Appello so we will always share this exciting honor. My brilliant inventor friend Dr. Ann Christine Langselius Founder of Miraculum who is a true world changer. I believe Miraculum will be a household name. My husband, three-time Ironman, Adam Mathews, and our children. Ashley who drew my logo and Adam who invents something new almost every day. I’m inspired every minute of the day by my mom who saves everything and gave me the spirit of compassion, my dad who taught me how to invent and fix broken things, and little sister, Renee - miss Rock n Roll entrepreneur. My 91-year-old mother-in-law, Betsy Mathews who goes to the gym three times a week and is a constant reminder to press on and have a positive mindset! Kendra Scott - hello! Well, I could go on and on, to sum it up as Lisa Copeland said: “if you can’t see it, you can’t be it!” Find your tribe and cheerleaders who are the trailblazers then you too can enjoy this wild, exciting, exhausting ride called entrepreneurship.

Zelinda: Anything you'd like to share with our readers?

Cherie: Zelinda Richards and Imiko Miller are some of the most amazing people with a big vision I have met in Austin. They came over to my home to shoot the cover, and I felt like I had family in my home. We drank green tea together and discussed life including my emotions with dealing with my father who recently passed. Who does that? People who are real and caring not to mention talented. I am honored to be on the cover of Occhio Appello, and I will save some copies for our children and grandchildren. Thank you for your vision and entrepreneurship example for all of us. Thank you to my friends and family for always being there as friends, advisors, and encouragers.

May God Bless you with your dreams and never, ever give up. It’s okay to dodge and pivot but never give up!
