crowd when my models came out was electric. So many people wanted to stop us to take pictures of and with the ladies and to ask me questions about my concepts and overall designs. I had requests to collaborate from other artists that were there that night. I was offered to do a campaign with a jewelry line and a makeup company. I have also had discussions with several Austin based photographers on some exciting new photo shoot ideas. It is truly a night I won’t soon forget!

Chris Clark: If you could go back would you have done anything differently?

DF: I think the only thing I would have done differently is to have had the opportunity to give these creations a test run with the models. That way I would have been able to work out all the kinks prior to the event and not work them out that night. That would have allowed me more time the night of the event to take the creativity even further. All and all I was extremely happy with the outcome!

Chris Clark: What do you love about this industry the most? And what not so much?

DF: I would have to say that I have two great loves about this industry. The first is that there is no limit to how creative you can be. If you can imagine it then you can make it a reality. Whether you are doing a simple day makeup for someone or a futuristic Avant-garde photo shoot, the sky’s the limit! The second is that I have the opportunity to make people feel beautiful and better about themselves everyday. Whether you’re a successful model or kid’s school teacher. We all have our unique beauties and I get to help bring that out in people everyday. What I don’t like about this industry is the enormous pressure it places on people to look “perfect”, when there is no such thing. Although I am part of that same industry I try to remind people everyday that their true beauty is skin deep. Let that shine and you make my job a hell of a lot easier!

Chris Clark: How would you describe your signature look and what is it about your style that sets you apart from other hair and makeup artists?

DF: I would have to say my signature style is making what I do on a client look effortless and extremely natural. I’ve been told throughout the years ( continue next page)
