Chicken Wings, Fries, and Testimonies

by Saffron Trust

How often do we share our testimony? Do we remember that we were born with His will in mind? Do we truly understand the value of His extended Grace and consider Him the only Gift Giver? How often do we ask for more of Him and less of ourselves? As we share and live in faith, God’s supplies us with the answers to those questions in a spiritual kind of way. Faith is the secret spice in the mysterious recipe for God’s miracles and the key to the Kingdom for His people. {}

My reverence of, thirst for, and love toward Him have recently manifested in being blessed to join the R.O.C.K ministry, under the teaching of Dr. Charles A. Moody, Jr.

who continually teaches on the Kingdom message, grounding us in true Christology, Bibliology, Trinitology and Sanctification. The R.O.C.K. (Reflections of Christ’s Kingdom) ministry works to spread the words found within the gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 24:14) and promotes this teaching by restoring a Kingdom-focused lifestyle wherever we find ourselves, one life at a time. {}

So, it was with great excitement that I received a text about bible study at the home of Dr. Moody himself on Tuesday night. I instantly contacted my spiritual sister, Vanessa and, together, we headed there with feet that felt like they could fly as fast as angels’ wings!

Upon arriving, Dr. Moody invited us to make ourselves comfortable and to eat as much as we liked, pointing us toward the kitchen counter where chicken wings, fries, and drinks awaited us. As we each found a spot in the living room, Dr. Moody thanked us for coming since he was on home restriction after his back surgery, surely, he was elated to see all of us. As being somewhat new members to the R.O.C.K and not wasting much time, Dr. Moody opened in prayer - then asked a question for each of us to answer. “What was our reason to come to the R.O.C.K ministry” he asked, “…and why do we have a love for the Lord?”

Rosetta began to share her testimony first. She spoke softly and even got a little choked up as a memory came flooding back to her. Her life-changing event occurred years prior when she was delayed in attending a revival, thus sparing her life where a massacre broke out at the time she would have arrived. Joe shared his story next, recounting a car accident where the woman who had run into him invited him to church and he had accepted.
