ES: What do you think about the quote "Jack of all trades, master of none..." or people who may feel that you're doing the most?
TF: I don't ascribe to that way of thinking or those people. I didn't choose to become a Lifepreneur®, it chose me. I sought out a career in which I could be hands-on with my son, assist my husband with his business, and one that offered me the three F's: flexibility, financial security, and fulfillment. My life may get a bit hectic sometimes, but overall I get the freedom to live a life I love doing what I love. To me, that's all that matters, whether you have one job or 100.
ES: How do you find inspiration to create?
TF: I'm inspired by a number of things from my child to nature to just life in general. However, my biggest influences upon creativity come from my upbringing. My grandmother, Gloria VanBuren, was a seamstress. I spent numerous days throughout my childhood in fabric stores, flipping through pattern books, or perusing fashion from notables like Gloria Vanderbilt. In fact, for a brief time as a child when I heard the name I thought they were referring to my grandmother. Classic brands and bold looks like hers created the foundation for my current brand style and still inspire me to this day.
ES: What advice you would give someone thinking about becoming a Lifepreneur®?
TF: Go for it!
Life is too short to sit around unhappy on a job that you hate and that really isn't benefitting you or your family.
Ask yourself this question, "What makes me happy?"
Then come up with a plan to get there.
