Development Keller continues to see strong and steady economic growth, with more than $226 million in commercial development and nearly 400 new businesses joining the community over the past five years. Notable large projects have included the additions of Sam’s Club, The Bowden Wedding and Event Center, The Birch Racquet and Lawn Club, Moviehouse and Eatery, Shannon Brewing Company and Baylor Emergency Medical Center. It’s not just the large projects that make Keller unique among Northeast Tarrant County cities, though; Keller also continues to attract independent business owners looking to get their start — or expand their successful DFW-based concepts — into a community that strongly supports local businesses. Recent examples of these have included Nikko Blu Gallery and Boutique, craft beer outlet What’s on Tap, brunch favorite Seven Mile Café and train-themed American sit- down The Station Icehouse Patio. “Best Places to Buy a Home in Texas” We’ve also made our mark as a city that welcomes popular regional chains making their debut into Texas or the western portion of the Metroplex. The Colorado-based concepts of Rush Bowls as well as The Lost Cajun recently -Lend EDU joined the city’s business lineup, and Korean- fusion hotspot, LA Burger, selected Keller as its first Tarrant County home. Staff continues to pursue offerings that will set Keller apart from its national chain-heavy neighbors. In 2019, Keller is anticipating the opening of Chandon Arbors, a 14,000-square-foot state-of- the-art luxury wedding and event venue situated on 3 acres in Old Town Keller. Area residents will also see construction in Keller Town Center on the city’s first hotel — a 110-room Hampton Inn & Suites — and an associated full-service restaurant. And on South Main Street, Everest Rehabilitation Hospital has announced plans to break ground on a 40,000-square-foot, 36-bed physical rehabilitation hospital and outpatient therapy center.
